Newton + Co Real Estate

Emma & Scott Newton from Newton + Co Real Estate are passionate about Real Estate, so much so that they have opened a new bespoke Agency in the heart of the Village.  I stopped into their gorgeous office and caught up with

Emma to talk about business, life and being part of our fantastic community.

How long have you been in business?

We set up the business during the first lockdown in March 2020 and then attempted to open our office one week before the second lockdown in August 2020! It’s fair to say that we came into it, eyes wide open.

Have you always been in real estate?

I worked in Corporate Real Estate for many years, but before that – my career was as a primary school teacher and then mum of two busy kids. I taught in Hamilton, Auckland, and for nearly five years over in London. For me, Real Estate is about relationships, and with teaching and parenting, it’s the same, just with little people! There’s a nice synergy there, between the two.

What is it that’s different about what you do?

We like to think of ourselves as an end-to-end real estate agency.  The real estate sale can be very vanilla as everyone uses the same tools and procedures.  I believe that there is an opportunity to provide more of a concierge service on either side of the real estate transaction. We assist our clients right through their real estate journey, providing the support of tried and tested locals who can help with everything from plumbing, painting, cleaning, and staging. It’s all about taking away some of the stress that our clients feel, and ensuring that we achieve the best possible market outcome for them.

What do you do outside of work?

We live locally, both our kids attend local schools, so we spend our time running around after them and having family adventures when we can. I love to read, so I immerse myself in a book, it’s a great place to have quiet time! And I appreciate a good TV programme where someone else is doing the talking. When we can, we spend time in the Coromandel (Pauanui) and love being out on the water.

What do you like most about being in the Village?
We love the familiar feeling; it is a place where shop owners know your name and your coffee is underway before you complete your order. This resonates with us because that’s the kind of service, and feel that we provide to our clients.

The architecture of the buildings reflects a time gone by and draws people in with a sense of community and belonging. It’s the right fit for our brand, and we love living life locally.

Pop in. Emma is always ready for a chat.
