2017 Auckland Heritage Festival Walks

Experienced guides unravel the story of Maungawhau, Mt Eden, taking you back to a time when the mountain was central to a network of waterways and pathways

created by Māori travelling across the isthmus; to a time when early settlers transformed the western slopes into farmland and the Valley Road corner was a bowling green; to when canny merchants saw opportunity at the crossroads.

2016 Auckland Heritage Festival Walks


Join us for a one-hour walk exploring the history and development of Maungawhau, the Mount Eden village area from the 1840's onwards.

Walking tours will be availbale during Auckland's Heritage Festival as follows:

Saturday September 24th at 1:30pm

Saturday October 1st at 1:30pm

Saturday October 8th at 10:00am

Refreshments will be provided at the end of each walk.

Space is limited and bookings are essential and should be submitted using this registration form.
