Nite Spice Restaurant and Bar

Nite Spice - True flavours of India

With a rich heritage, the history of Indian cuisine is as old as our civilization. The Indian dinning etiquette is built on traditions and behind almost every tradition are centuries of invasions, conquests, religious beliefs, political changes and social customs.

People from the Indus valley cooked with wild grains, herbs and plants. Most of them are staples today. The Mughals saw food as an art and made us familiar with the fragrance of rose water, the texture of yoghurt and desi ghee, and the use of spices. They showed us that eating is meant to be pleasurable. The Chinese introduced the tradition of tea, Portuguese made red chilli popular and from the British we borrowed the dinner decorum of being conservative.

More interesting is how traditions have come into shape, evolved and transformed over time. They primarily vary by region and religion. In a land of numerous rituals, the act of offering food to deities gave birth to many traditions. The “prasadam” served at temples, the “langar” at Gurudwaras or the lavish “Iftar” meals reflect our diverse ethnicity. These traditions made their way into our kitchens and influenced how we regard food – sacred and pure.

Spices are used in many Indian dishes. When it is hot, spices such as chili peppers and garlic help the body sweat and cool it down. In colder weather, spices such as cloves, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, cardamom, and nutmeg help warm the body. At Nite Spice we proudly proclaim that:

‘‘Spice is our name and Spice is our passion!’’

The secret to the distinctive flavours and choice offerings on the Nite Spice menu can be found in the rules of the kitchen.
* Freshest ingredients
* Less oil
* No colouring
* No cream (unless absolutely necessary)
* Trusted recipes
* No shortcuts
* A passion for good food and a love for what we do!

Nite Spice has been proudly serving our customers in Mt Eden for more than 10 years, ensuring the dishes are matched with impeccable service and hospitality.

Molten Restaurant and Wine Bar

Molten is a neighbourhood eatery comprised of an intimate 35 seat Restaurant, Wine Bar, Courtyard, Private Dining Room, and Private Lounge, encapsulated within two adjoining heritage buildings dating from the 1850’s.

Using the modern European bistro as a reference point, Molten’s menu celebrates produce sourced directly from our passionate growers, farmers and fishermen. Our menu is dynamic, a living document that reflects the changing seasons and our own inspirations.

Our wine list is fundamentally based on value for money – whether you are ordering from our “under $50” section, or drinking one of the worlds’ great wines at near-retail prices. We’ve designed the document itself to be as user-friendly and informative as possible, working in conjunction with on-the-spot advice and information from our front of house team – all of whom are dedicated wine and beer enthusiasts. Actually, so are the team in the kitchen. Please see the ‘menus’ page for a copy of the wine list.

Zool Zool

Zool Zool is the brainchild of Toru Hirae (Soi. Restaurant) and Kazuya Yamauchi (Kazuya Restaurant),
both award-winning Japanese chefs who have a longstanding presence in Auckland's restaurant scene.

They wanted to create a place to enjoy delicious, authentic ramen and quality sake.
Zool Zool embodies this dream and offers much more than ramen -
the duo have crafted a menu featuring their favourite Japanese tapas, deserts, wine and whiskey.

At present, ramen is becoming familiar to western tastes in the same way that sushi has in the past.
Toru and Kazuya want to take you on this journey and introduce you to the best ramen you have ever had.

"We have established this restaurant with a belief that we can showcase this style of Japanese food in Auckland
to you and your friends and we know that you will enjoy dining with us.

We look forward to seeing you soon."
